Sustainability and Governance Working Group

The Sustainability and Governance Working Group will investigate different organizational models, including a stand-alone non-profit 501(c)(3) organization;different funding models to ensure long term sustainability; and establish the governance of DataONE and a representative stand-alone organization (i.e., the DataONE Users Group (DUG)) to ensure that stakeholders provide direction.

  • Version 2.0 of the DataONE Marketing Plan;
  • Version 1.0 of the DataONE Business Plan;
  • Collaborative/competitive landscape analysis and cost/benefit analysis from KRDS toolkit;
  • Continued development of marketing materials;
  • Expand DataONE marketing efforts in national and international venues;
  • Selection of business consultant to help the Working Group accomplish its objectives

Previous Projects:

  • Version 1.0 of Marketing plan completed;
  • Two-day Data Governance Workshop held in Washington D.C., December 2011;
  • Production of professional meeting poster, banners, bookmarks, and PowerPoint demo

Project Outcomes:

  • Completion of DataONE marketing plan and business plan;
  • Development of revenue and cost tracking models to aid in the sustainability of DataONE
