DataONE and other organizations build and maintain preservation-oriented repositories that implement Member Node services. Below are a listing of current and planned Member Node implementations.
Maintained by NCEAS, Metacat uses EML as the metadata format, and features multi-site replication. It can be deployed as a Tier 1,2,3, or 4 Member Node.
GENERIC MEMBER NODE
Maintained by DataONE, the Generic Member Node (GMN) is a pure Member Node implementation built using python. It accepts any metadata format, and features a pass-through configuration so that data (and metadata) can be retrieved from an organization's primary repository.
DataONE has targeted building extensions to several third-party repositories (listed below) as resources allows. If your organization has familiarity and technical expertise with these systems, please let us know!
