Members of the Community Education and Engagement (CEE) working group have just published an article on 'The Ethics of Data Sharing and Reuse in Biology'.
"Sharing data is becoming increasingly important ... both for the integrity of science ... and for the development of synthetic data products that allow existing data to be applied to new problems. However, the degree to which researchers are willing to share data depends to a large extent on the responsible conduct of their colleagues who reuse that data. "
